CONTACT AND CONNECTOR EMPLOYING THE CONTACT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact 20 which obtains a stable connection without increasing a fitting force and an insertion force even if it has multiple cores, and which is lower-profile and is also downsized in the depth direction. SOLUTION: The contact 20 includes: a contact portion 22 for contacting at least one first object to be connected; a fixing portion 34 held by an insulator 12; a connection portion 36 for connecting to a second object to be connected; and an extension portion 44 for extending a free end side of the contact portion 22, wherein the extension portion 44 is folded back in the same direction as that in which the first object to be connected is inserted and in the plate thickness direction, and at least one new contact portion (second contact portion 24) is provided to the folded-back extension portion 44.
