PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and a control method, capable of allocating resources of hardware to an OS activated on the basis of a general purpose architecture provided in an information device. SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus includes: a hypervisor 200 for managing a plurality of operating systems activated on a BIOS-ROM 120; a main operating system operated on the hypervisor 200; a guest operating system operated through a guest loader 202; and a notifying means for notifying the guest operating system of the change information of the configuration of a computer 10 through the guest loader 202 when discriminated that the configuration of the computer 10 is changed by a PF configuration monitoring application 300 operated on the main operating system.
