PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory card 1 for achieving a high random write access speed. SOLUTION: In the memory card 1 having a memory part 11 configured of an NAND type flash memory which can be connected to host equipment 2, the memory part 11 can be configured of a normal access area 11A configured of only an original block OB and a high speed access area 11B configured of the original bock OB and a sub-block SB, and includes a memory controller 12 for controlling the memory part 11 to store user data input from the host equipment 2 in either the normal access area 11A or the high speed access area 11B according to a command from the host equipment 2.
