Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine appropriately performing exhaust recirculation control in the internal combustion engine provided with an exhaust recirculation mechanism performing exhaust recirculation from the downstream side of an exhaust emission control catalyst to an intake passage and preventing malfunction such as fixation of an exhaust recirculation control valve. SOLUTION: A timer TMFC integrates fuel cut operation execution time (S21), and EGR delay time TEGRDLY is calculated according to the value of the timer TMFC (S13). Exhaust recirculation (external exhaust recirculation) through the exhaust recirculation mechanism is stopped (S17, S22) from fuel cut operation end to elapse of the EGR delay time TEGRDLY.
