Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low temperature-fired high strength low thermal expansion ceramic which can be co-fired with low resistance metals such as Ag, Au and Cu and further achieves high mechanical strength and low thermal expansibility, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a high strength low thermal expansion ceramic comprising a composite oxide having a composition expressed by formula: (1-x)(αLi2O-βMgO-γAl2O3-δSiO2)-xBi2O3(wherein, x is 0.01 to 0.1 in mass ratio, and regarding α, β, γ and δ, by molar ratio, α:β:γ:δ=2 to 5:1 to 2:1 to 2:7 to 17), and also disclosed is a method for producing the same.
