PATTERN FORMING SUBSTRATE, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING PATTERN FORMING SUBSTRATE, COLOR FILTER, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stripe-shaped or lattice-shaped color filter free from color unevenness by improving the pixel shape of a colored pattern of each opening in a pattern forming substrate including a substrate, a partition wall pattern formed in an orthogonal lattice shape on the substrate, and a plurality of colored patterns provided in openings partitioned in the partition wall pattern. SOLUTION: The colored pattern is formed in a stripe shape for each color. The partition wall pattern includes an X-directional partition wall pattern provided in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the stripes of the colored pattern, and a Y-directional partition wall pattern provided in a direction parallel to the longitudinal direction of the stripes of the colored pattern. The X-directional partition wall pattern includes a path connecting two opening parts adjacent across the X-directional partition wall pattern. The sectional area of the path part that is a rectangle for one opening part in a section of the X-directional partition wall pattern along an X-directional center line (straight line) equally dividing the X-directional partition wall pattern is α2-30α2wherein α is an average film thickness of the Y-directional partition wall pattern.
