Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refractory shaped article and a refractory fired substance, both excellent in corrosion resistance and infiltration resistance in a molten metal, and a composition for refractory used as a raw material for them. SOLUTION: The composition for refractory comprises 5-40 pts.mass of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of calcium fluoride, magnesium fluoride, calcium oxide or its precursor, magnesium oxide or its precursor, barium oxide or its precursor, and barium sulfate per 100 pts.mass of at lest one compound selected from the group consisting of silicon nitride, boron nitride, and silicon carbide. The composition for refractory further comprises at least one compound selected from the group consisting of silicon nitride, boron nitride, and silicon carbide in an amount of at least 20 mass% of the composition.
