Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for highly efficiently and inexpensivley producing α-acyloxy acrylic acid and/or its ester and to provide a method for producing α-acyloxy acrylic acid and/or its ester by using the catalyst. SOLUTION: The α-acyloxy acrylic acid and/or α-acyloxy acrylic acid ester are produced from pyruvic acid and/or pyruvic acid ester or lactic acid and/or lactic acid ester by using the catalyst containing at least one inorganic compound selected from the group consisting of heteropolyacid and its salt, isopolyacid and its salt, sulfated zirconia, alumina, silica-alumina, zeolite, iron phosphate, noble metals and alloys thereof.
