Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece for receiving leap second information and reducing the power consumption at reception. SOLUTION: This electronic timepiece comprises a receiving section for receiving a satellite signal transmitted from a position information satellite, and a control section 20 for controlling the operation of the receiving section. The control section 20 comprises: a time information acquiring means 21 for driving the receiving section and acquiring the time information; a leap second information acquiring means 22, such that when the time information acquired by the time information acquiring means 21, determines whether the leap second information can be acquired within a certain time from that time, and when it is determined that information can be acquired, the receiving section is driven and acquires the leap second information; and a time-correcting means 23 for correcting the displayed time, based on the acquired time information and leap second information.
