MODEL EXPERIMENT DEVICE FOR RAILWAY VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a model experiment device for a railway vehicle usable for analysis for earthquake countermeasure by modeling the railway vehicle with a prescribed scale, and by simulating vibration or displacement applied to an actual vehicle via a track during an earthquake. SOLUTION: When a vehicle model is to be manufactured, the model is formed, based on numerical values determined by scaling down based on a physical similarity rule, each numerical value, such as the length, spring constant, an attenuation coefficient, mass, force, moment of inertia, acceleration, speed, time or frequency. This model experiment device is equipped with a vehicle body equivalent load frame 10, which is a vehicle body equivalent load member equivalent to a vehicle body of a railway vehicle which is an experiment object; a truck model 20 equivalent to a truck of the railway vehicle; a track model 30 equivalent to a track along which the railway vehicle travels, and an excitation device 40 for applying displacement equivalent to earthquake motion to the track model 30.
