Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater cleaning robot which can be safely elevated and lowered without the need of manual aid by roughly horizontally hanging the underwater cleaning robot without vertically inclining it when elevating and lowering the underwater cleaning robot. SOLUTION: In the underwater cleaning robot comprising a robot body 2 moving along the surface of a cleaning object existing in the water and a cleaning nozzle unit 3 provided in the robot body and cleaning the cleaning object by jetting high pressure water toward the surface of the cleaning object, the robot body is provided with an elevating/lowering handle 6 with a locking part 64 freely detachably connected to an elevating/lowering means 65 such as a rope. The elevating/lowering handle is provided so as to freely change the position of the locking part 64 to a hanging attitude A of being positioned above the robot body and being capable of elevating/lowering the robot body and a storage attitude B for which the connection part is moved to the robot body side more than the hanging attitude A, and an energizing means 67 for energizing the elevating/lowering handle to the storage attitude is provided.
