MEDICAL IMAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD WITH INTEGRATED WEIGHT SENSING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated weight sensing system and method for medical imaging systems. SOLUTION: The integrated weight sensing system (10) includes a table assembly (16), a load cell (18), and a processor (14) that are implemented in a medical imaging system (12). The table assembly includes a lifting mechanism (38) used to position a patient (70) within the medical imaging system. The load cell is mechanically coupled to the table assembly and in communication with the processor. The load cell is configured to measure and indicate the weight of the patient, and the processor is configured to adjust imaging parameters based on the weight of the patient. The table assembly includes a device (84) in communication with the load cell and/or the processor to display the weight of the patient.
