PRODUCTION METHOD OF MAGNETIC TRANSFER MASTER CARRIER, MAGNETIC TRANSFER MASTER CARRIER, MAGNETIC TRANSFER METHOD, AND MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a magnetic transfer master carrier, capable of easily obtaining a resist pattern required for forming a magnetic convex portion and suppressing production time and a production cost, etc. SOLUTION: The production method of the magnetic transfer master carrier includes: an imprint resist layer formation process of forming an imprint resist layer on a surface of a magnetic layer of a laminate which includes a base material and the magnetic layer laminated thereon; a resist pattern formation process of forming the resist pattern, following shapes of concave portions of a mold including the other base material and the concave portions formed by etching a surface of the other base material so as to correspond to the pattern of information to be recorded on the magnetic recording medium, on the surface of the magnetic layer, by pressing the concave portions against the imprint resist layer; and a magnetic convex portion formation process of forming the magnetic convex portions on the surface of the base material by removing the mold from the imprint resist layer and then etching a surface of the magnetic layer which surface has no resist pattern.
