STEEL SEGMENT AND METHOD OF JOINING STEEL SEGMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel segment enabling a construction period to be shortened by easily positioning steel segments in a tunnel depth direction and tunnel circumferential direction though screws such as bolts and nuts are used as joining devices so that an excavation in the tunnel depth direction can be performed parallel with a joining operation while quickly performing the joining operation. SOLUTION: This steel segment comprises a segment body 11 having a predetermined length in the tunnel depth direction and a predetermined width in the generally arcuate tunnel circumferential direction; connection flange parts 12, 13, 14, 15 vertically extending from four edge sections of the segment body 11; screw sections 16 projecting from the surface sides of the respective mutually opposed one side connection flange parts 12, 14; and spacers 18 screwed with the screw sections 16 and having outlines generally matching connection through-holes 13a, 15a formed in the mutually opposed other side connection flanges 13, 15, respectively.
