PROBE FOR INSERTION INTO LIVING BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probe for insertion into a living body which shows excellent operability at a proximal end part of a catheter and sufficiently reduces the occurrence of kinks in the proximal end part in the probe for insertion into the living body including a sheath and a shaft inserted into the sheath to acquire data. SOLUTION: The probe 1 for insertion into the living body is provided with the sheath 3 and the shaft 2 housed in the sheath to acquire data. The sheath is equipped with a tube 13 having a spiral-shaped slit 14. The spiral-shaped slit includes a distal end slit portion 15 having the highest slit density, a middle slit portion 17 having a lower slit density than the distal end slit portion, and a proximal end slit portion 18 which continues from the middle slit portion and has a higher slit density than the middle slit portion 17.
