MASTER CARRIER FOR MAGNETIC TRANSFER, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master carrier for magnetic transfer, its manufacturing method, and a magnetic recording medium in which it is possible to prevent erosion of a transfer pattern by an etchant in a wet etching process of shaping a master into substantially a doughnut shape in a master fabricating process. SOLUTION: In the master carrier for magnetic transfer which includes, on a surface thereof, a plurality of uneven transfer patterns corresponding to transfer information and extending radially and in which at least surfaces of protruding portions of the plurality of uneven transfer patterns extending radially are made of a magnetic material, at least a portion of the plurality of uneven transfer patterns extending radially is surrounded by a continuous protective protruding pattern.
