CONNECTOR HOUSING AND OPTICAL CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability of connection of a connector while keeping a stable status on an occasion of a process of assembly, or inserting/withdrawing time of the optical connector. SOLUTION: A ferrule assembly constructed such that an end part of a through-hole of the ferrule to which an optical fiber cable is end processed and the other end part is housed and held by a holder. The holder is provided with a rectangular flange part energized at the back of the same by elastic force of an elastic means. The front side where the optical fiber being end processed is formed in a conical shape continuing from the flange part, and an opening end side of the housing is related with the conical part of the flange part of the ferrule assembly. A correctly opposite fitting part and an engaging part engaging with the rectangular flange regulate the housing position of the ferrule assembly. The housing is characterized by forming predetermined radius of curvature on the edge line where the engaging member in the cavity and the side wall are crossing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
