IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of efficiently cooling a paper conveying belt by surely sending air for cooling blown toward the paper conveying belt in a direction opposite to the moving direction of the paper conveying belt. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is configured to include: a first blower means for blowing the air for cooling to the upstream side of a cleaning means in a belt running direction, in the non-transfer running area of a recording medium conveying belt; and a second blower means for blowing air toward the non-transfer running area side of the recording medium conveying belt from the transfer area side of the recording medium conveying belt, with respect to a negative pressure forming gap formed between the recording medium conveying belt and a fixing means, to generate negative pressure in the negative pressure forming gap and guiding the air for cooling blown to the recording medium conveying belt by the first blower means upward by the negative pressure generated in the negative pressure forming gap.
