RICE COOKER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker which is user-friendly, in cooking of unpolished rice, cooks rice excellently, and permits an increase in nutritive components. SOLUTION: The rice cooker includes: a pot where the material to be cooked is contained and a freely openable cover is arranged in the upper opening part; heating means for heating the material to be cooked via the pot; and controlling means which controls the heating means in cooperation with a temperature measuring means for measuring the temperature of the pot and performs a rice cooking step. The controlling means includes an unpolished rice cooking course with a pre-processing step of the unpolished rice as the rice cooking step. The pre-processing step includes: a high-temperature immersion step of breaking the seed coat of unpolished rice at temperature higher than the gelatinization temperature of the rice; and a low-temperature immersion step which is set in the post stage of the high temperature immersion step and urges the immersion of the unpolished rice with the seed coat broken therein with water at a temperature lower than the gelatinization temperature of the rice.
