RARE GAS DISCHARGE LAMP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare gas discharge lamp which is capable of connecting a power feeding wire of the external electrode type rare gas discharge lamp by a simple and convenient method, in which an area for connection is large, and which is less in electric resistance, high in tensile strength, and superior in reliability. SOLUTION: In the rare gas discharge lamp 10, rare gas is sealed in the interior of a light-emitting tube 11, separated from each other on the outer surface of the light-emitting tube 11, a pair of external electrodes 12 are arranged and installed along a tube axis direction, the power feeding wire 13 is connected to the external electrode 12, the power feeding wire 13 is constituted by covering a core wire constituted of a plurality of metal element wires with an insulating material, a plate-like collapsed part 13A is formed by pressing the core wire, and the collapsed part 13A is electrically connected to the external electrode 12.
