Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out proper address discharge even in a next scanning line by suppressing voltage variation of maintenance electrodes and scanning electrodes during impressing of address pulses. SOLUTION: In the driving method for the plasma display panel, a scanning pulse 73 with negative polarity is impressed on scanning electrodes Yn of the plasma display panel having a plurality of the scanning electrodes Yn extending in a first direction and a plurality of address electrodes Am extending in a second direction crossing the scanning electrodes, and the address pulses 83, 83a with positive polarity are impressed on the address electrodes by an address driving circuit to generate address discharge. The address pulse is generated by using a charge share method of applying a voltage of equalizing electric charges remaining in each of the plurality of the address electrodes, preceding clamping of a predetermined voltage of a high voltage or a low voltage to the address electrodes, and a fall time is made longer than a rise time.
