SOLUTION: The copper pipe 1 for the cross fin tube type heat exchanger 3 consists of a cross fin tube with the copper pipe 1 and a fin 2 being integrally assembled to each other by inserting and arranging the copper pipe 1 formed of copper or a copper alloy in a cylindrical collar part provided on the fin 2 formed of aluminum or an aluminum alloy. A coating film consisting of carbon compound with its film thickness being 1.0-500 nm equal to the depth at which the carbon amount is reduced to one half of the carbon amount on the outermost surface of the copper pipe 1 in the Auger electron spectroscopy is formed on the surface of the copper pipe 1.
