Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biphenylene derivative which has excellent oxidation resistance and enables the formation of a semiconductor active phase by the coating method, an oxidation-resistant organic semiconductor material using the same, an organic film composed thereof, a light-emitting material, and a process for simply and economically producing the biphenylene derivative. SOLUTION: The biphenylene derivative is represented by formula (1) (wherein R1to R8are the same or different and each hydrogen, fluorine, a 2-20C alkyl group, a 2-20C alkynyl group, a 2-30C alkenyl group or a 4-20C aryl group; m is 1 or 2; and n is an integer of 0-2, provided that R1and R2are not hydrogens at the same time).
