Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve engine output by reducing intake resistance, and to prevent sucking-in of dust and the like into an air cleaner box. SOLUTION: A scooter type vehicle has a swing type power unit 11 achieved by integrating an engine 12 having a cylinder assembly 15 extending forwardly from a crankcase 14, with a transmission 13 pivotably supporting a rear wheel 16 behind by rearwardly extending a side portion on one side of the crankcase. A swing shaft 18 is disposed below a front part of the crankcase of the engine, the air cleaner box 24 is disposed on an upper surface of the crankcase, an intake component 25 (an intake passage 44) extends substantially linearly along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle between the front face of the air cleaner box and the upper surface of a cylinder head 21 of the cylinder assembly, and an intake inlet 49 is connected to the front face of the air cleaner box while extending substantially parallel to the intake component forwardly of the vehicle.
