CHIP CATCHING DETECTION DEVICE AND MACHINE TOOL PROVIDED WITH THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip catching detection device preventing work failure and securing highly accurate work by immediately detecting "catching of chips" generated when a two-plane constraining tool is suitable for a tool fitting part of a spindle, in a tool fitting structure in which a tool end face is brought into close contact with a spindle end face and a tapered part and a tapered hole are elastically deformed and brought into close contact with each other when the two-plane constraining tool is fitted to the tool fitting part. SOLUTION: In the chip catching detection device, when a chip 13 is caught between the tapered part and the tapered hole 9, detection compressed air A1 passes through a clearance space S around the chip 13, and then is positively discharged from a tapered hole discharge groove 26 to outside of the spindle 3, and change in a flow rate of the air A1 is detected.
