NO-PARKING AREA REPORT DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a report (warning) to the effect that an own vehicle is in a no-parking area from being made frequently, and prevent a nuisance from being given to its user, and to make a report to the effect that the vehicle is in a no-parking area at a timing more suitable than before. SOLUTION: A report device includes a GPS receiver 8 for detecting the position of a vehicle, a database 19 for storing information on no-parking positions, and a controller 18 for determining whether or not to make a report to the effect that the vehicle is in a no-parking area on the basis of the position of the vehicle and the information on the no-parking positions, and controlling report operation to be performed by a display element 5 and a loudspeaker 20. The controller has a function of detecting the speed of the vehicle from the outputs of the GPS receiver, and is so configured as to prevent a report to the effect that the vehicle is in a no-parking area from being made when the speed of the vehicle on the occasion of its entry into the no-parking area is not lower than a predetermined speed, and to make a report to the effect that the vehicle is in a no-parking area when the vehicle speed is lower than the predetermined speed.
