Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for controlling operation of a gas turbine engine. SOLUTION: The device includes: a power generator 24; the gas turbine engine provided with a combustor 14 having a plurality of fuel injection points to receive flow of fuel from a corresponding flow control device; and a fuel control system 28. The fuel control system is located in the periphery of a gas turbine engine system, and includes a plurality of sensors 26 to measure related parameters, and a processor. The processor is progammed to receive signals representing fuel composition from the sensors, to use flow models and the signals to determine physical characteristics of fuel at an inlet 20 to the flow control device, to use the determined physical characteristics to determine corresponding correction values to gas fuel flow gain, and also to use determined flow gain to automatically control fuel split between feed of fuel and the fuel injection point on the combustor, so that relatively great variation is tolerable in the fuel composition usable for the gas turbine engine.
