STACKING DEVICE, AND STACKING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stacking device and a stacking method capable of stacking a retaining article on a stacking article in the state that the mutual articles are suitably fitted and performing suitable stacking work. SOLUTION: The stacking device 1 is provided with a device body 4 having a turning part 10. On the turning part 10, a base body 12 is turnably provided. On the base body 12, a fixing clamping body 23 and a movable clamping body 31 for clamping the article W from both sides are provided. On the base body 12, a lower surface support 41 for supporting a lower surface of the article W is movably provided. At stacking work, the retaining article W is positioned at a position above the stacking article W in the state that the retaining article W is inclined relative to the stacking article W in plan view and in the state that one corner part of the retaining article W is coincident with one corner part of the stacking article W in plan view. Subsequently, after one part of the retaining article W is only placed on the stacking article W, inclination of the retaining article W relative to the stacking article W is eliminated in plan view, and thereafter, the lower surface support is moved to stack the retaining article on the stacking article in the state that they are fitted to each other.
