TWIN DRUM TYPE CONTINUOUS CASTING EQUIPMENT AND CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a twin drum type continuous casting machine which winds a slab around either cooling drum and then pulls out the slab, in which, even if a variation in the diameters of the cooling drums by a thermal expansion amount or the like in both cooling drums can not be directly recognized, circumferential speeds of the drums are made the same, and therefore shear stress is not applied from the cooling drum to the slab. SOLUTION: In the twin drum type continuous casting machine which winds the slab 113 around the cooling drum 102 and then pulls out the slab 113, the cooling drum 101 and the cooling drum 102 are rotationally driven by a motor 121 and a motor 123, respectively independently. Then, a controller 120 controls the rotational speeds of the motors 121 and 123 using measured torque values T1 and T2 measured with torque meters 122 and 124. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
