Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst and a method for catalytically deoxidizing NOx in exhaust gas from a diesel engine efficiently even in the presence of sulfur oxides by using unburnt carbon contained in the exhaust gas as a deoxidizing agent and catalytically removing the unburnt carbon and to provide a catalytic diesel particulate filter obtained by depositing the catalyst on a diesel particulate filter. SOLUTION: The catalyst for catalytically deoxidizing NOx in the exhaust gas by using unburnt carbon contained in the exhaust gas from the diesel engine as the deoxidizing agent and oxidizing/removing the unburnt carbon contains alkali metal titanate as a catalyst component, preferably, contains (A) alkali metal titanate as the catalyst component and (B) at least one selected from chlorides, carbonates, sulfates, silicates and aluminates of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals as a promotor component.
