WAVEGUIDE SWITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a compact waveguide switch eliminating the need for a large movable mechanism and having a simple structure. SOLUTION: Electrostatic-concentrating plates 14 and 18 projecting from the wall surface of the waveguide, concentrating an electric field on an electrostatic-concentrating gap between opposed metallic conductors and propagating radiowaves along the waveguide are fitted in the waveguide. Slits 22 and 24 sufficiently increasing an impedance in the direction gradually propagating the radiowaves are formed to the electrostatic-concentrating plates 14 and 18 so that the opening sections of the slits face the electrostatic-concentrating gap, and a conductor-switch piece 30 capable of changing over the shielding and opening of the opening sections is disposed, thus configuring the waveguide switch.
