DISPLAY CONTROLLER AND ITEM DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display controller or the like executing an item desired by a user while a plurality of items are displayed. SOLUTION: A plurality of menu items 31A, 32A of a menu image of a DVD or the like are displayed. When an operating position on a display screen 30 is detected, if the detected operating position of the user corresponds to a plurality of menu item selection regions 31B, 32B on the display screen 30 allowing the selection of the respective menu items 31A, 32A, processing is executed corresponding to the menu items 31A, 32A corresponding to any of the menu item selection regions 31B, 32B according to predetermined conditions. Even when the plurality of menu item selection regions 31B, 32B overlap with each other, the menu items 31A, 32A corresponding to any of the menu item selection regions 31B, 32B can be selected.
