GRINDING STONE DRESSING METHOD AND GRINDING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding stone dressing method which is implemented by fully automated grinding operation of a grinding stone inclusive of dressing of the same, without providing a special unit, exerts high flexibility, avoids complication of a device structure, and dispenses with special operation for the dressing, and to provide a grinding device. SOLUTION: A dressing workpiece 16 to be continuously machined by the grinding device as a dressing grindstone is obtained by electrocoating a surface 16a of a workpiece 15 with dressing abrasive grain 56. A poor conductor workpiece has the surface thereof plated, and then a plated layer is electrocoated with the dressing abrasive grain. Alternatively the dressing workpiece 16 may be formed by electrocoating the dressing abrasive grain 56 to the surface 16a of a metallic substrate 55 having the same shape as that of the workpiece 15. In general cases, the dressing abrasive grain is electrocoated, but the surface 16a of the workpiece 15 or the metallic substrate 55 may be coated with the dressing abrasive grain 56 by a method other than the electrocoating, depending on the material of the workpiece.
