METHOD OF MANUFACTURING MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium having excellent coating film strength and electromagnetic transducing characteristics and excellent running durability. SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing the magnetic recording medium sequentially includes a step of applying a non-magnetic application liquid on a non-magnetic supporting body to form a non-magnetic layer, a step of irradiating the non-magnetic layer with a radiation to cure the non-magnetic layer, and a step of forming a magnetic layer on the cured non-magnetic layer. The non-magnetic application liquid contains a resin having a hydroxyl group and/or an amino group and a compound having an isocyanate group and/or a substituent represented by formula (1) and a radiation-curable functional group.
