PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine reader/writer and a vending machine for use of electronic money. SOLUTION: The vending machine includes: a commodity selection button 14 capable of selecting a commodity among a plurality of commodities, and also selecting other commodities during the time from when the commodity is selected to when a reader/writer 100 becomes communicable with a non-contact IC card 200; an electronic money service selection button 103 capable of selecting an electronic money service among a plurality of electronic money services, and also selecting other electronic money services during the time when the electronic money service is selected to when the reader/writer 100 becomes communicable with the non-contact IC card 200; and an RW control part 107 for performing settlement processing of electronic money by reading and writing electronic money information stored in the non-contact IC card 200 based on the commodity selected by the commodity selection button 14, and the electronic money service selected by the electronic money service selection button 103.
