PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly present a conversion candidate desired by a user corresponding to a read character string. SOLUTION: A dictionary conversion part 61 selects a dictionary conversion candidate as the conversion candidate of a read character string supplied from a character conversion control part 66 by using a conversion dictionary. An EPG conversion candidate detection part 64 retrieves keywords including the dictionary conversion candidates from among pieces of program information stored in a program information storage part 63. Also, The EPG conversion candidate detection part 64 selects the retrieved dictionary conversion candidates and the following character strings among keywords including the dictionary conversion candidates detected from the program information as EPG conversion candidates. A character conversion control part 66 outputs all the dictionary conversion candidates and the EPG conversion candidates as conversion candidates.
