Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the small sizing of an optical apparatus in which a plurality of light source parts are arranged side by side on a frame. SOLUTION: A light source device 1 is used for an image forming apparatus. A laser diode 13 emits a beam. A collimator lens rectifies the beam. An optical element holder 16 has a first side surface and a second side surface which are counter to each other in the main scanning direction vertical to the optical axis of the beam and retains the collimator lens. A laser element holder 19 includes a flange part retaining the laser diode 13, a first arm part joined onto the first side surface and a second arm part joined onto the second side surface. The plurality of light source parts 4 are disposed on the frame 3 so as to be arranged side by side in the main scanning direction and are arranged so as to be superimposed on the sub scanning direction vertical to the light source parts 4 adjacent to each other, the light axis of the beam and the main scanning direction.
