Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a light-emitting device that inspects and eliminates short-circuiting at a defective part of a light-emitting element. SOLUTION: The method of producing the light-emitting device is provided with: a light-emitting element 206 containing a positive electrode 203, a negative electrode 205 and an organic compound layer 204; and a thin-film transistor, wherein the method comprises: a step of forming an positive electrode of the light-emitting element on the thin-film transistor; a step of forming an organic compound layer on the positive electrode electrically connected to either a source or a drain of the thin-film transistor; a step of forming the negative electrode on the organic compound layer; a step of forming a passivation film by covering the light-emitting element; a step of forming a sealing material on the passivation film; a step of pasting a covering material on the sealing material; a step of selectively making a defective part emit light by impressing reverse bias on the light-emitting element; a step of specifying the defective part by detecting light emission; and a step of repairing the defective part by irradiating the defective part with laser light.
