Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize and improve reading accuracy of a carved seal formed in a component passing on a production line, in a code reader. SOLUTION: A control part stores image data output from an image sensor 4 (#2), and converts the image data based on prescribed image processing algorithm (#3). The control part evaluates quality of the carved seal based on the converted image data (#4). When the quality of the carved seal is excellent (YES in #5), a code read in the evaluation of #4 is output to the control part of a production management system (#6). Thereafter, evaluation results of the carved seal quality are fed back to a code sealing device (#7). When the quality of the carved seal deteriorates (NO in #5), a warning signal is transmitted to the control part of the production management system (#9) to call attention of a manager.
