AIR CONDITIONER FOR AUTOMOBILE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for an automobile capable of obtaining comfortable air-conditioning performance corresponding to an existence pattern of a vehicle occupant, in particular, enhancing comfortability of a rear seat occupant without impairing comfortability of a driver. SOLUTION: The left/right independent air-distribution type air conditioner for the automobile is provided with a cooling heat exchanger 2, a heating heat exchanger 3 and an air mix door 4 in an air-conditioning unit case 1. In the air-conditioning unit case 1, right and left front air-distribution ducts (vent duct 14 and foot duct 15) for blowing out temperature-adjusted air toward right and left front seats S1, S2 and right and left rear air-distribution ducts (rear vent duct 20 and rear foot duct 21) for blowing out temperature-adjusted air toward the right and left rear seats S3, S4 are set, and the temperature-adjusted air is distributed independently at right and left sides. Front and rear seat air-distribution doors (front and rear seat warm air distribution door 5 and rear seat mix door 9) for distributing air-distribution amount to one side of the right and left sides to the front seat and distributing air-distribution amount to the other side of the right and left sides to the rear seat are provided at a downstream position of the heating heat exchanger 3.
