Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face image photographing method and a face image photographing apparatus which can automatically perform photographing, by automatically recognizing a photographable state of a person-to-be-photographed without involving, for example, determination of a human system. SOLUTION: The face image photographing method for photographing at least a face image of a person-to-be-photographed in order to form a certificate photograph attached to an identification card or various types of licenses, comprising the steps of: photographing at least a face image of a to-be-photographed person; recognizing from the photographed image face whether the person-to-be-photographed is in a photographable state; selecting the photographed face image as a photographed image, on the basis of the recognition of the photographable state such that the person-to-be-photographed is in the photographable state.
