PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, setting image forming conditions corresponding to obtained print medium information. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100, which is adapted to set image forming conditions corresponding to print medium information to form an image, includes: an obtaining means 301 for obtaining print medium information; a storage means 302 for storing the print medium information and image forming conditions corresponding to the print medium information with a correspondence between them; a setting means 303 for setting the image forming conditions corresponding to the print medium information; and an inquiry means 304, which is connected through a network when the print medium information obtained by the obtaining means is not stored in the storage means to make an inquiry about image forming conditions corresponding to the print medium information to a server 306 storing the image forming conditions corresponding to the print medium information, wherein the setting means sets the image forming conditions stored in the storage means or the image forming conditions obtained by the inquiry means.
