ELECTRIC MOTOR AND RECORDING MEDIUM DRIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor which is made thinner, and to provide a recording medium drive. SOLUTION: In an electric motor 2 comprising a shaft body 4 supported rotatably about an axis L while holding a permanent magnet 5, a bearing 3 for supporting the shaft body rotatably about the axis, a base 7 for supporting the bearing fixedly, and a plurality of pole teeth 11 arranged such that the end 17 faces the permanent magnet rotating about the axis and formed to extend in the radial direction toward the permanent magnet for each predetermined angle about the axis, the base is formed of a magnetic material, the pole tooth is supported on a pin 12 standing from the base and a coil 13 is wound around the pin along the axial direction.
