PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily know which receiver has or which sender and receiver have different data by receivers or by senders and receivers. SOLUTION: When an EDI system 1 and customer systems 10 and 20 perform transmission and reception, in a transmission and reception data quantity check system 7, the number of slips and the number of slip detail lines at input time are compared, for check, with the number of slips and the number of slip detail lines at output time being results of format conversion and business processes in the EDI system 1 and absence of data or an unauthorized increase is detected. The comparison check is carried out in totaled units of specific items that slip information has, for example, by receivers or by senders and receivers. Since the check is performed by totaled units, it can be known which receiver has or which sender and receiver have different data by receivers or by senders and receivers.
