Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental preservation block capable of easily constructing a retaining wall capable of recovering and preserving vegetation originally possessed by rivers, by making an environment suitable for the vegetation. SOLUTION: This environmental preservation block for constituting the vegetative retaining wall, is constituted as a block body having right and left side surface walls 2 and 2, a front surface wall 3 and a rear surface wall 4 having a lateral width larger than a lateral width of the right and left side surface walls 2 and 2 and arranged in a state of projecting both right and left end parts in the lateral direction more than the right and left side surface walls 2 and 2, and a bottom surface wall 6 arranged by blocking up a bottom part of a sediment filling space surrounded by the right and left side surface walls 2 and 2, the front surface wall 3 and the rear surface wall 4. Concrete filling spaces 7a and 7b opening on one side are vertically arranged in outside two places of the right and left side surface walls 2 and 2 of the block body, and the front surface wall 3 is provided with a front projecting part 11 opening an upper surface by projecting obliquely forward from the front surface wall 3 and forming a front projecting space 12 communicating with the sediment filling space 5, and the bottom surface wall 6 is provided with one or a plurality of vertically penetrating drain holes.
