WHEEL DRIVE DEVICE AND WHEELCHAIR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden in movement while pushing a moving body itself by a third party, when a wheel drive device is used for a moving body such as a wheelchair. SOLUTION: When a lever 12 is rotated in a Y direction, a tip of rotation piece 80 is abutted to a second wall part 743 of a base rotating member 74. A radially outside plate 84 gives the base rotating member 74 torque through the rotation piece 80. The base rotating member 74 is revolved in a counterclockwise direction with respect to an internal insertion body 50. Therefore, a third mode in which rotating of the internal insertion body 50 is not transmitted by wedge tightening element 52 is made. At a fourth position where a lever 12 is further rotated, the third mode is maintained and a curved part 901 of a retreating and retaining plate spring 90 disposed to a hub 24 is engaged with a recess part 341 formed to axis base material 34 to restrict the rotation of the lever 12.
