Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric storage device capable of prolonging the lifetime of a capacitor by a simple operation. SOLUTION: The electric storage device is provided with a plurality of capacitors 11 connected in series, a balance voltage adjusting means 13 connected to each of the capacitors 11, and a control circuit 15 connected to the balance voltage adjusting means 13. The control circuit 15 measures a non-charging/discharging both end voltage (V1i, i=1 to n, n is the number of the capacitors) in non-charging/discharging of the capacitors 11, measures a charging/discharging both end voltages (V2i) of the capacitors 11 when the capacitors 11 are only continuously charged or discharged after the above measurement, determines a balance voltage (Vri) of each capacitor 11 depending on an absolute value (ΔVi) of the difference between the non-charging/discharging both end voltage (V1i) and the charging/discharging both end voltage (V2i), and causes the balance voltage adjusting means 13 to control so that the capacitor both end voltages (Vi) are each the balance voltage (Vri).
