Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase sensitivity by adding pixels in an imaging apparatus, and to improve precision in pixel interpolation. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus adds a pixel in a horizontal or vertical direction to increase sensitivity in an image sensor. A CCD 12, for example, outputs an R pixel signal in which the pixel is added in a vertical direction, a G pixel signal, and a B pixel signal. A CFA interpolation section 24 uses an adjacent pixel in a horizontal direction for interpolation processing for the G pixel signal. The CFA interpolation section 24 uses the adjacent pixel in a horizontal direction to perform interpolation processing in a horizontal direction for the R and B pixel signals, and uses the correlation of the interpolated G pixel to perform interpolation processing in a vertical direction.
