METHOD FOR DEGASSING COATING LIQUID AND DEGASIFICATION APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for degassing a coating liquid that neither requires the cleaning work of a circulation tank after coating is finished nor a cleaning water and a degasification apparatus in a coating apparatus that coats continuous webs and sheets. SOLUTION: The method for degassing a coating liquid that removes bubbles in the coating liquid to be coated on the continuous webs or sheets and a degassing apparatus therefor including a linear degassing pipe 2 that transfers the coating liquid and is almost horizontally disposed and a branched pipe 3 branched above the pipe 2 are provided, wherein the component in the perpendicular direction of the force directed to the center of the pipe generated in the bubbles based on a pressure difference generated by a velocity difference between a pipe central position and an eccentric position of the bubbles in the coating liquid flowing through the pipe 2 is made smaller than the buoyant force of the bubbles, thereby separating away the bubbles in the coating liquid from the pipe 3.
