Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper capable of damping building vibration by a disturbance caused by normal wind and building vibration by earthquake motion, while suppressing cost. SOLUTION: This damper calculates a control force by either a first calculation part 11 for calculating a control force corresponding to a swing by wind or a second calculation part 12 for calculating a control force corresponding to a long frequency earthquake motion by using a control mode selector means 14 according to an output from an earthquake motion detection means. When an earthquake motion is detected by the earthquake motion detection means, the control mode selector means 14 immediately switches the calculation parts 11, 12, and the second calculation part 12 calculates the control force corresponding to the long frequency earthquake motion.
